40300 Elijah (Level 2)

Lesson 1

Because much of the book of Elijah is a biography these lesson teaches truth in terms of practical life. In this lesson we see Elijah in confrontation and we learn of the impact that one man truly alive for God can have on a society. Elijah was a man who knew the Word of God and who prayed. He not only believed the Lord, but he applied it to his life. This is the same for us today. What things are proof that God is alive in your life?

Lesson 2

This lesson we look at Elijah in concealment. For an individual to be effective in public, he will have to be effective in private with God. We will look at the command, promise, response, and test that Elijah went through. We will learn that we also go through these stages in life.

Lesson 3

What kind of a man does God choose and use? This lesson deals with Elijah in conflict against the prophets of Baal. During this showdown we see the faith of Elijah, the Glory of God, and the turning of the nation back to God. This lesson also looks at the three qualities of a person who God chooses and uses. Do you have these qualities?

Lesson 4

Who would you pick to pattern your prayer life after? We learn that Elijah was a man like us and very approachable to learn from. This lesson looks at Elijah’s prayer life and three characteristics of it that are for us today.

Lesson 5

This lesson looks at Elijah in crisis. We find that it is a short distance from mountain top experiences to the valleys of despair. We see the very real account of a man as he struggled with the physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles of life. We learn the blessing of unanswered prayers and the importance of praying what God wants and not just what we want.
