Description: These six, dynamic lessons deal with living by faith as presented in the book of Hebrews. Dr. Pentecost gives an overview of the teachings in the book. Hebrews gives powerful evidence of who Christ is and what He has done and will do for the Believer. Christ is seen as the all-sufficient Savior. This study points out the helps for and hindrances to Christian maturity. Dr. Pentecost was Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary for over 50 years and the Distinguished Professor Emeritus. He went home to heaven in 2014.

There are 6 lessons in this course.

Lesson 1

Dr. Dwight Pentecost introduces the student to the book of Hebrews. This book was written to help believers to know how to continue on in their faith journey to a place of spiritual maturity. This lesson will help you to have a greater appreciation for Jesus.

Lesson 2

Moses brought to the people of Israel the law to help them in their relationship to God, but Jesus has brought to the believer something greater. What? What is the faith-rest life?

Lesson 3

Christ was appointed by God to be the Believer’s priest. What does He do for us as our Priest? He is also the sinner’s sacrifice. What did He do for you as your sacrifice? Dr. Pentecost discusses somethings that stymie our spiritual progress and what we can do to help ourselves.

Lesson 4

In this lesson Dr. Pentecost addresses, Hebrews 6:4-8, one of the most controversial passages in the Bible. When was the Old Covenant done away with? Why?

Lesson 5

In this lesson Dr. Pentecost explains the significance of some of the Jewish Temple sacrifices and how these relate to what Christ has done for us in being our sacrifice. What does propitiation mean? What is the true biblical meaning of forgiveness? Should this change our thinking on our ideas of forgiveness?

Lesson 6

This lesson covers chapters 10-13 of the book of Hebrews and in this lesson you will learn about the “unpardonable sin.”
